01

What is the gold rate in Dubai today?

The 24K gold rate in Dubai today is AED 467.00 per gram. The Live Rates page is the full, minute-by-minute source for 22K, 21K, 18K and silver, with 1-month, 3-month and 6-month charts.

02

03

How is the price of a gold bar calculated?

A gold bar's price is the live rate per gram for its purity multiplied by its weight, plus a premium that covers refining, certification and handling. The total is rounded to the nearest AED 10. Every product page shows the metal value and the premium separately, so you can see exactly what you pay for.

04

Why is a bar more expensive than rate × weight?

The difference is the premium: the cost of refining, minting, assaying and certifying the bar, and the dealer's handling. Premiums are higher per gram on small bars and lower per gram on larger ones, which is why a 100 g bar costs less per gram than a 1 g bar.

05

Which gold bar size gives the best value per gram?

Larger bars carry a lower premium per gram, so they usually give the best value for the metal you receive. MINT currently lists gold bars in 1 g, 2.5 g, 5 g, 10 g, 1 tola, 1/2 oz, 20 g, 1 oz, 50 g, 100 g and 1 kg. Smaller bars are easier to sell in parts and to give as gifts. Compare sizes on the gold bars page.

06

Why does the gold price change during the day?

Gold trades around the clock on global markets, and the Dubai price follows the international price in US dollars converted to dirhams. Moves in the dollar, interest rate expectations, central-bank buying and geopolitical news all shift it. MINT shows the live figure, and we do not predict where it will go.

07

Can I lock today's gold price?

Yes. When you place an order with the advance payment, the item and the price are locked for 24 hours. The total and the balance due stay fixed during that time, even if the market moves. If the balance is not paid within 24 hours the order is cancelled and the lock ends.

08

What is gold worth per tola, ounce and kilo?

At today's 24K rate of AED 467.00 per gram, the metal value is about AED 5,446.99 per tola (11.6638 g), AED 14,525.33 per troy ounce (31.1035 g) and AED 467,000 per kilogram. These figures are metal value only; the price of a bar or coin adds the brand premium.

Buying gold and silver

What to buy, how much, and how an order works.

01

How do I buy gold bars online in the UAE?

Choose a bar or coin on the MINT Jewels store, add it to your cart and check out. The price is the live rate plus the brand premium, shown in AED. You then collect from a showroom, choose UAE delivery, send it as a gift or keep it in the MINT Locker. You can also buy in the MINT Wealth App with the same account.

02

Should I buy a gold bar or a gold coin?

Bars usually carry a lower premium per gram, so they suit buyers who want the most metal for their money. Coins are easier to recognise, to resell in small amounts and to give as gifts, and collector's coins can carry a numismatic value on top of the metal. Both are certified and priced from the live rate.

03

What is the smallest amount of gold I can buy?

MINT stocks gold in small bars and coins as well as larger ones, so you can start with a single small piece. Gold bars are currently listed in 1 g, 2.5 g, 5 g, 10 g, 1 tola, 1/2 oz, 20 g, 1 oz, 50 g, 100 g and 1 kg. Check the weight filters on the gold page for what is in stock today.

04

Is gold a good investment?

Gold is widely held as a store of value and as a hedge against inflation and currency swings, but its price rises and falls and nothing is guaranteed. MINT provides education and live prices, not personal investment advice. Decide how much to hold based on your own goals and time horizon.

05

Can I buy silver bars and coins from MINT?

Yes. MINT sells certified silver bars and coins at the live fine silver rate (AED 5.80 per gram today) plus the brand's premium. Silver is also VAT-free in the UAE when it is investment grade (fine silver).

06

What are collector's pieces and how are they priced?

Collector's pieces are limited or commemorative coins and bars. Unlike standard bullion, their price is fixed by MINT and does not move with the live gold rate, because part of the value is the design and rarity.

Purity, brands and certification

Karats, fineness and who made the bar.

01

What is 24K gold and what is 999.9 fineness?

24K gold is pure gold, with a fineness of 999.9 (999.9 parts gold in 1,000). It is the standard for investment bars and coins. 22K is 916, 21K is 875 and 18K is 750 parts per thousand, with the rest made up of other metals for strength.

02

What is the difference between 24K and 22K gold?

24K is pure and soft, so it is used for bars and coins that are kept as an investment. 22K contains about 8% other metals, which makes it harder and better for jewellery. Investment-grade 24K is VAT-free in the UAE, while 22K carries 5% VAT.

Are MINT's gold bars certified and genuine?

05

What does LBMA or DMCC Good Delivery mean?

Good Delivery is a quality standard for gold and silver bars. LBMA (London) and DMCC (Dubai) maintain lists of refiners whose bars meet strict rules on purity, weight, markings and responsible sourcing. A bar from a Good Delivery refiner is accepted worldwide, which makes it easier to resell.

06

What information is stamped on a gold bar?

A bar is stamped with the refiner's mark, the weight, the fineness (for example 999.9) and usually a serial number. Small bars often come sealed in an assay card. Keep the card with the bar, because it makes reselling quicker.

07

What is the difference between gold and silver as an investment?

Gold is the larger, more stable store of value, while silver is cheaper per gram and moves by a wider percentage. Silver also has heavy industrial demand. Many buyers hold both. Silver bars take more space for the same value, so MINT also offers the Locker for storing larger amounts.

How much is my gold worth?

Multiply the weight in grams by the live rate for its purity: 24K is AED 467.00 per gram, 22K is AED 432.50, 21K is AED 414.50 and 18K is AED 355.50 today. That gives the metal value, which is indicative only. The final price is confirmed by MINT at the time of sale after weighing and testing.

Should I keep gold at home or in a vault?

Gold at home carries a risk of loss and theft that is hard to insure. A vault removes that risk and lets you sell faster, which is why many buyers use the MINT Locker for larger amounts. Keep small pieces at home only if you can store them securely.
